On 22 February 2026, the DIANA project (Empowering Women through the Development and Implementation of Entrepreneurship in Rural Tourism in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan) was officially presented by representatives of Hochschule Wismar (HSW) to more than 25 young engineers working on engineering solutions to address current challenges in agriculture.
This event became an important step in promoting the DIANA project and expanding its target audience. During the meeting, participants were introduced to the project’s main concept, strategic objectives, key areas of activity, and expected outcomes.
Special attention was given to the development of women’s entrepreneurship in rural areas of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan through the implementation of innovative approaches in rural tourism, the enhancement of digital literacy, and the development of sustainable business models.
The participation of young engineers in the discussion highlighted the interdisciplinary nature of the DIANA initiative, which combines tourism, agriculture, digital technologies, and innovative entrepreneurship. This approach allows rural tourism to be viewed not only as a tool for regional development but also as a platform for implementing modern engineering solutions aimed at improving the quality of life in rural communities.
During the presentation, the participants also discussed prospects for cooperation between higher education institutions, research centers, and young professionals, as well as opportunities for the practical application of technological innovations in the sustainable development of rural areas.
The DIANA project continues to expand its international network of partners and stakeholders, promoting knowledge exchange, fostering innovation, and creating new opportunities for women and youth in rural regions.
The implementation of the project once again confirms the importance of international cooperation in addressing contemporary challenges and building a sustainable future for rural communities in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
